According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), Halloween is the second most lucrative holiday for retailers. In 2012, Americans spent $8 billion dollars on costumes, decorations and candy. Over 170 million Americans reported that they planned to “celebrate” the holiday in some way. That’s a lot of candy!
According to the NRF, 33% of people search online for costumes and costume idea. They also use social media networking sites like Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter.
